About Lorraine’s Pharmacy

Pharmacists

Chris Briggs
B. Sc., Phm, Pharmacist Owner/Designated Manager

Chris BriggsFather of four. Started his community pharmacy experience in 1971 as a cashier and stock person at Lorraine's Pharmacy during his high school years. Graduated from the University of Toronto with his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1979. Worked as a staff pharmacist at the store from 1979 until 1986 when he and his wife Erin purchased the business from his mother, Lorraine Briggs. Since Chris has taken ownership of Lorraine's Pharmacy, he has successfully grown the business in new and novel directions. Perhaps most notably, his professional focus has led him into the area of specialty compounding. As the only specialty compounding pharmacy in Renfrew County, Lorraine's Pharmacy services a large geographical area for compounded prescriptions. Chris takes special pride in being the "go-to" pharmacy for patients' special medication needs requiring his compounding expertise. However, patients seem to be most drawn to Chris for his caring-style of delivering quality pharmaceutical care. He is undoubtedly one of the community's most well respected and liked health care professionals.

Outside of pharmacy, Chris is a devoted family man who enjoys spending time with his family, as well as playing hockey, running, golfing, camping, canoeing, and fishing in Algonquin Park with Erin and their four children; Ryan, Kaleigh, Sean, and Shannon. Oh, and Chris would insist we mention that he is a long-time Red Wings Hockey fan. (Luckily, we don't hold that against him!)

Maureen Lepinskie
B. Sc., Phm, Staff Pharmacist

Maureen LepinskieMother of two. Graduated from the University of Toronto with her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1982. She began her career at Boots Drug Stores (now known as Pharma Plus) in several downtown Toronto locations. Maureen has been working at Lorraine's Pharmacy since 1989. She prefers the small town pace and atmosphere and has fostered many close relationships with her customers over the years. Maureen is a PCCA trained pharmacist who enjoys the professional challenges and rewards of specialty compounding.

Outside of pharmacy, Maureen is a devoted wife and mother who enjoys spending time with her family; husband Martin, and two daughters, Marita and Michelle. She also enjoys gardening, cross-country skiing, kayaking, and swimming in the annual Barry's Bay Triathlon. Thankfully, Maureen does not tend to be accident prone while partaking in her sporting activities, unlike front store manager, Peter.

Stephen Goodyear
B. Sc., Phm, Staff Pharmacist

Father of one. Graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland with his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1997.

He began his career at Central Pharmacy in Grand Falls-Windsor, NF in 1997 where he gained extensive experience in the field of specialty compounding.  Stephen joined Lorraine’s Pharmacy in 2002 where he continues to promote the benefits of specialty pharmaceutical compounding.  Stephen is particularly interested in consulting with physicians and patients regarding compounded transdermal medications for pain.

Outside of pharmacy, Stephen enjoys spending time with his wife, Celeste and daughter, Stephanie.  He also enjoys strength training, running, listening to music, and attending rock concerts.  Stephen is the first and only ‘Newfie’ Pharmacist at Lorraine’s Pharmacy, but the rest of the staff certainly don’t hold that against him!!!  (Not too much, anyways.)

Krystyna Kearney
M.Sc., Phm, Staff Pharmacist

Krystyna Kearny

Mother of two. Graduated from the Medical University of Warsaw with a Masters Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1976.  She began her career in pharmaceutical research in Poland.  In 1982 she immigrated to Canada from her native Poland.  Initially staying in research at the University of Toronto, she later moved into retail pharmacy and has remained in retail ever since.  Throughout her career, Krystyna has enjoyed the challenges and rewards of different practice environments including both staff pharmacist and management positions at a number of pharmacies.  Always anxious for the next challenge, Krystyna joined Lorraine's Pharmacy in 2007 and has embraced the opportunity to practice in small town Barry's Bay where relationships with patients grow easily.  This has been particularly true for Krystyna who, as a polish speaking pharmacist, has been warmly welcomed by the many polish speaking patients in the Madawaska Valley area.

Outside of pharmacy, Krystyna enjoys spending time with her husband Patrick, son Sean, and daughter Stephanie.  Her favorite thing to do is travel but she also enjoys reading, gardening, and any outdoor activities.  Krystyna has easily fit right in with Joyce, Maureen, Kim and the rest of the “Addicted To Chocolate” club, but has added the twist of being addicted to prunes as well.  There is always a stash of prunes on hand when Krystyna is around; we all have our addictions and some are just a little less common than others!
